Why Most People Pick the Wrong Niche (And What to Do Instead)

Niche selection is everything in SEO.

You might think the laptop niche is a smart choice.
Laptops are expensive, so commissions must be solid, right?

Wrong.

That niche is garbage unless you have a six- or seven-figure budget.
You’ll be up against giants like PCWorld and ZDNet—massive authority sites with deep pockets.

In fact, I’ve never seen a laptop affiliate site earn more than $7,000/month.

So what should you look for instead?

It all comes down to ROI:

How much can I expect to make from this site, relative to what it costs to build and rank it?

To figure that out, I look at two key metrics:

  • Revenue per content article created
  • Revenue per backlink built

Where do I find this data?
From real sites listed on website marketplaces like Flippa, Motion Invest, and Empire Flippers.

That’s where you can reverse-engineer what actually works.
