The Most Overrated SEO Advice on the Internet

Most of the SEO content you’ll find online tends to overcomplicate the process.
So let’s start by cutting through the noise.

Here’s one of the most common—and most misleading—pieces of SEO advice:

“Just write for the reader. As long as your content is helpful, Google will reward it.”

That advice sounds noble.
And yes, writing with the reader in mind is great for improving conversions and user experience.

But let’s be honest:
Google is not a person.
It’s a robot—an algorithm.
It doesn’t “read” your page like a human would.
It analyzes your content mathematically to determine its relevance, structure, and authority.

So if you want organic traffic, you need to write for the algorithm first.

This is the foundation of smart SEO:

Traffic first. Conversions second.

Because no matter how persuasive or beautifully written your content is,
it won’t matter if no one sees it.

Focus on SEO pillars that actually move the needle:

– Keyword targeting
– Topical authority
– Internal linking
– Structured data
– On-page optimization

Once you’re getting visibility,
then optimize for engagement and conversion.
