Quote from James A.Hart on June 28, 2025, 12:52 pmIf you’re planning to sell on Amazon or in retail stores, it’s best to get your barcodes directly from GS1—the global standard.
- Visit gs1.org and click “Get Your Barcodes.”
- Select your country, then choose a barcode option.
- If you only need a few barcodes, a single GTIN option works.
- If you plan to launch multiple products, the company prefix option is more cost-effective.
- Click to add your barcode option to the cart.
- Enter your brand name. This should include the brand, product type, variation, and net content. Avoid using marketing-style copy.
- Add to cart, continue as a new customer, and complete your order.
- After checkout, sign in and access GS1 Data Hub.
- Go to the Product section, and you’ll find your GTIN-12—also known as your UPC barcode—at the bottom.
Always use authentic GS1 barcodes to avoid listing issues or retail rejections.
