“E-commerce is Dead” — That Couldn’t Be Further From the Truth

They don’t understand their product.

More specifically — they don’t understand how to differentiate it.

I hear this all the time:

“I’m going to make a healthier version of [X].”
“Mine will be better quality.”

But better isn’t enough.
Different beats better — every time.

Why?
Because on social media, clarity wins. If your product doesn’t clearly stand out, it will get ignored.
You won’t convert. You won’t grow.

What actually works?
Reinvent the category. Take something familiar and give it a unique twist — whether that’s in flavor, form, experience, or branding. That’s how you win attention. And attention is the ultimate currency.

Most beginner founders don’t build this skill early enough.

You need to:

  • Study fast-growing brands
  • Use trend tools to spot what’s next
  • Learn how to bring a unique product to life at a cost that makes sense

If you can do that, you’re already ahead of 90% of first-time business owners.
